Last night I put in some time on the master bedroom closet as I had indicated I would. I actually got more done than I thought I would. The biggest task I have is to separate out the seasonal clothing and figure out where to put the winter stuff that I will not wear again until next winter (December-February). Once that is all done it is easier to get to the rest of the crud and start to throw things away or put in a bag to give away.

I am still hesitant about some of the clothing. I have recently lost 15 pounds (YAY), and yet I don't want to be too anxious to get rid of the clothes that are now a little big for me... you never know! Similarly, I don't want to get rid of the clothes that are a bit too small in case I lose a bit more weight and can fit into them again. Men, this is definitley a "girl" thing! Men just wear their pants lower to maintain their waist size ;o) Then they ignore the fact that their belly just hangs over a bit more. So, as for me, the really old stuff in good shape I will donate, the possibly and definitley wearable stuff I will keep, and I will pitch the rest.

The same type of thought process goes for shoes. Some don't fit or are worn out or are too out of style. Also, I have decided that I am old enough to stick with comfortable shoes and not kill my fee with high heels anymore. Besides, I don't have to wear them to work anymore. When I worked at the funeral home I had to be ready to dress up for work or conventions (Yuk. That is a subject for another post sometime). Soooo... I am freeing myself of that burden. Yes, that is a good word for this whole project... "freeing"

Below I will post some pictures of what the closet looked like before I started last night as well as the current state of the closet after tonight's work. When I am done I will post a picture of the finished work so you can all congratulate me on a job well done. Himself will probably remark that I should not have let it get that way in the first place. That may be true, but it is not what I want to hear after sucessfully finishing such a task. Sigh.

I really like that you are going to post before and after photos. I hope you don't get lost in that closet, Rhondent! That is a big project to tackle. Why do woman have so many clothes, so many shoes? lol

Good lord woman. That's not a closet that's a store's inventory.
Good luck on that..
