I Know I Am Being A Brat, But...

I am planning ahead. May will be here before you know it. I will be having a Mother's Day Celebration Extravaganza. In order to properly plan such an event, I will need to start now. Hopefully my offspring will all attend in their finest attire... or at least a nice shirt with their jeans.

I plan on beginning my day with tea service in bed... two lumps of sugar please and one crumpet... it is a special occasion. After properly showering, primping and dressing we will proceed to Bon Appetit for a fine brunch which will include Mamosas for "L" and I and anyone else who wishes to partake. "L" and Allybrat will of course each wear their finest hat. I will entertain all offspring with my wonderful sense of humor and toast to their future successes. I will then invite them all to join me for either a shopping spree in the mall, a really groovy movie (TBA-no talking animals, I promise), or a road trip to someplace amusing (TBA- am open to ideas). The evening will end with some sort of alcoholic beverage or two and perhaps a scrabble game or other challenging endeavor. Gifts will be eagerly accepted, but your presence is gift enough and, of course, is eagerly anticipated. How does that sound group? I will be making reservations very soon, so be sure to RSVP as soon as possible. Significant others are welcome.

The evening before the Great Day, I am open for darts, pool, shopping, movies, kyaking, or any other fun activity. Since this family (immediate as well as extended) seems to have a difficult time planning things ahead, I decided to do this myself. I know I am a brat, but I can't help it. OH! I also want to make sure that at some point I get to have a hot fudge sundae. I am overdue for one and can think of no better day to complement with one. Don't forget the whipped cream and cherry on top... nuts optional. Cheers!

I hope you get all of that! Especially the ice cream sundae.

Maybe you should print out this and put it in conspicuous places around the house. Under your husband's pillow. In your kids drawers, on the TV, VCR, and telephone. It worked for me when I wanted a dog when I was 6.

Yes! Make that happen, coz you deserve it. The sundae and all of it. Moms are the best. Carol's idea is pretty cool.

WHAT???!!?!?? NO talking animal movies this year? I am heartbroken :)

It sounds like we should do brunch at the Vinoy or something. And, do you want me to wear a small, medium, or Ginormous hat?

let's go shopping AND go to a movie!

Ginormous sounds great! I think I would really like to do Bon Appetit for Mother's Day... we'll do the Vinoy for Daughter's day-YOU pick the date!
