10 Days And Counting!

Only 10 days to go! We had a wine and cheese gathering at the church hall tonight for all of the group who will be going on the cruise. It is truly a rowdy bunch! Everyone was so excited that the poor man tying to give out information and answer anticipated questions had to have someone quiet us down several times. He had not realized that most of the group had never been on a cruise before. The youth group made a neat $2000.00 from this fundraiser. David, the youth minister was very pleased with that. So was the church bookkeeper! ;o)

I don't know how I am going to concentrate on my work for the next 11 days... so many of my co-workers are equally excited about the trip. They stop by my office or visit in the lunchroom, and we talk about what we are looking forward to experiencing. Do any of you experienced cruisers have any pointers for me?

It is nice for us first-timers that we will be sailing out of Tampa. It is close to home. Those of us that want to will be riding over to the Port of Tampa in one of the church buses. It will ease the transportation problem for some people who don't drive or don't want to leave their car in the parking area at $10 a day while we are gone. It should also be a hoot to ride with this group to the Port of Tampa!

One of my main questions right now is whether or not I will be able to have the Mamosas I have been salivating over while lounging on board. Somehow, I can't imagine a cruise and relaxing in a lounge without a proper Mamosa! I may have to bring my own champagne along... certainly I could get orange juice! ;o) I will have to call the cruise line tomorrow to get this important question answered. I would hate to have my whole cruise ruined over inadequate, appropriate cruising-beverages. At least I will be mentally and alcoholically prepared if the worst is true. Cheers! ;o)

I've never gone on a cruise but a friend has taken several. She says to be sure to bring dressy clothes too (not just play or vacation clothes) because they have rather formal/dressy events a few times on the boat, at least on the cruises that she's taken. Bet you can hardly wait!

The good thing about mimosas is that the OJ helps prevent hangovers...in fact, I think the OJ & champagne combo might even cure hangovers.
This magic combo does not, however, prevent sunburns or make you smarter. 2 facts that I wish I had known before partaking in the worlds best breakfast special the last time I was in Hermossa beach.
Enjoy the cruise and don't do anything that I wouldn't.

Sounds like fun. Remember to wear a life jacket all the time and stand near a lifeboat.
I've never been on a cruise so I'm basing my suggestions on the movie Titanic..

should I send you off with an emergency bottle of alcohol, just in case?
