Why Did You Choose That One?
In viewing the various blogs that I have visited I have often wondered how and why bloggers chose what they post as their logo or their picture of themselves for their blog. I know when I saw the mouse that I use I knew immediately it was what I wanted for my logo. It made sense for the name of my blog, and it just seemed to fit for me.
So here are a couple of questions for you... What did you choose to use for your logo or theme and why? How and why did you choose the name of your blog?
Now many of the logos and blog styles make perfect sense. But look at Lemming Fodder. I would have thought that he would have chosen a picture of a lemming for his logo. Instead he chose a pig. Doesn't make sense to me, but there must be some reason behind the choice. And while I'm questioning the logo... what IS lemming fodder anyway? Woody at Cheesebee Chronicles told the story behind his title. My blog name combines my name and my love for the furry ones.

hiya, Fizzy is aterm used by my hubby and an uncle. Origionally My uncle called me it cos I had lots of curly hari. Now I think it relates to the amount of D.COke I drink. The Duck (s) well I love ducks so it just became a mission to find as many ducky pictures as I can find. I am sorry that I ahve not visited for a while I will return Byeeee
When I "created" my blog, I barely knew what one was and I was unconvinced that it was anything of any great merit since I had only recently gotten my "Southern Exposure" web site going. I figured the Exposure would be hard enough to fill up. (Of course, I was right and do not at present attempt to fill it any more!) THEREFORE, when it asked me for a blog title, I wrote in the first thing that came to mind. My pest control experience suggested "rat", though I have never gone by that nickname anywhere or at any time. When I never changed the title, I was stuck with it and therefore stuck with the illustration (one or another). Some, maybe most, of my readers at once time or another has probably assumed that the rat who "squeaks" is me, but I have not yet come to identity to that extent with the appelation. It is AS IF a rat squeaked, just as when I write a poem from the perspective of being a woman, I am still not a woman, doncha know!
I wonder if you'll hear from others who are as amiguous about their own titles or logos? Most bloggers say little about all this, regardless of how much one might think they should.
I actually dislike my blog title, but it's too late to change it now apparently, as people keep googling for it. It was just the first thing I thought of I guess.
now, the reason I picked my avatar is because it looked a lot like me (or at least it looks a lot like how I would have looked over a hundred years ago :)
"L"-- why don't you come up with a new name for your blog, use it for awhile as an aka and then gradually change over to it? Give everyone a chance to "discover" your changeover! I love your avatar... hope you don't want to change that!
I love these responses, and hope I get some more!
Is this a meme? I feel confused. Should I pass it on?
I am so glad someone has asked me this. Thankyou.
Well! The story is this: my name is Justine. My nickname with my in-laws is Justa, which they say "Yoosta", so now you know. I quite like this nickname.
Up until fairly recently I was chronicly late, so people would very imaginatively comment, "Just in time". That, combined with a sense of "my blog is MERELY one of hundreds of thousands (or even millions?)" resulted in the title Justa Blog. As in Just a Blog. But also, you know, my name. Justine. Justa. And all that.
This is the first time I have visited your blog, and I think it is very nice. Thanks for having me.
ps. The reason I have no photo of myself on my blog is I am technologically challenged.
OK, I realize that this comment is really late but for some reason I have had a hard time looking at your blog of late...it keeps locking up my browsers.
Anyways, here is the explanation to lemming fodder and the pig picture for my profile.
The lemming part comes from the fact that I started a blog after my 2 sisters AND 5 million other people in the world. Not an original concept at all. I was just kind of following a trend like one of so many lemmings.
The fodder part just refers to the brainless content of my blog for any other lemmings out there who might like to snack on my pellets of randomness...please keep in mind that it was 3 AM when I named the blog.
As for the pig pic...Im just lazy. I was just trying to figure out the whole pic process and I never got around to finding and inserting a decent pic.
"JPR" -- Well, you could start a contest to see who comes up with the best picture for your blog... you might get some uniqu entries! Actually, I know full well, that if you look at a picture of a lemming, you could probably come up with a very cute cartoon version! Just look at the pic you drew! As oigs go, he is far funnier that the photo you have !;o)
