Correction
This picture of the rare Florida Squirrel has been making the rounds on the internet. (Special thanks to Jim's Little Blog for providing the above photo) It is truly a sight to behold. However, in the interest of scientific accuracy, I must correct this misconception. The Florida Squirrel pictured above is actually not as rare as has been indicated.
The true rarity, the Octogenarian Mouse, found primarily in the vicinity of Miami, Ocala and St. Petersburg is pictured below. It had recently been moved from the "of concern" list to the endangered species list until a new colony was discovered in Pasco County, Florida.
