Once I Was Blind, But Now I Can See...

I had to laugh yesterday when my daughter Allison saw the picture of the mouse on my "Still Just Hangin Out" post... she exclaimed laughingly, "It's the Mission Impossible mouse!" That thought had never crossed my mind! Now it is absolutely obvious. It just goes to show you how easily perceptions can change when you are given a different perspective.

I have had other times when my perspective has taken a dramatic shift. It is those "aha!" moments that so often create growth in our lives. Many of those moments I view as God working in my life. Recently, someone said to me that they didn't believe God involved Himself in the everyday and little things in our lives. I don't agree with that. I think we look for the big things and often overlook the little things where God reveals His hand in our lives. Some of my most significant growth has resulted from some little adjustment in my perspective that has led to major changes in my life... like when you are missing a piece of a puzzle that when found finally reveals to you what the puzzle picture actually is.

So, I look for those little things. Life moves forward, or sometimes backwards, one small step at a time. Sometimes a step backwards is what creates the change in perspective, sometimes it is a step forward. Then, once in a while, I get to experience a leap forward. But I know not to wait for those leaps... it is those little steps added together that bring about the most change.

I think sometimes God shows us the answer by showing us what we don't want.

Cliff,
Yes, and sometimes that is the only way we can learn being the foolish beings that we often are!

That's a really interesting way of looking at things. A pretty good way actually.
You are actually pretty smart despite what other bloggers have told me, tee,hee..

I gotta agree with you! I think the little things are very important too, and I know God is involved in the little things as well as the big!

I'll buy all that. Makes sense and follows what I believe.

I once couldn't see very good and had to wear glasses. I was out in the back yard trying to get Adi inside and she didn't know what come meant or was too young and meandering yet.
It was dark back there. I leaned down to pick Adi up and stuck a sharp tree limb in my right eye.
After the patches came off and the medicinal creams had cleared, I didn't need my glasses anymore.
I still don't need them except to read. Before, I couldn't even see traffic signs in time to react.
There ought to be a moral to this or an application. I will think about it. For sure it all happened one day at a time.

It's the little steps that get us there, the giant leaps may happen but they are rare. Good post

I've found that people are often so caught up in looking for big magic fix all to their problems that they simply step over the real solutions. It's important to remember that the big picture is made up of thousands, if not millions, of tiny brush strokes.
