I Have Survived!

Yes! I have survived another year of "spring ahead" and I don't even have to figure out how to change my clock in my car! I refused to change it in the fall. Thanks to modern technology, my cell phone, computer and cable box clocks have magically made the change without my help. I shall not recognize the fact that I have "lost" an hour. I absolutely refuse. Who is responsible for this whole stupidity anyway?

I sure did lose an hour. But I made it up on Sunday morning by sleeping till almost eight. I was teaching my class after a 30 minute drive at 9:30 too. Not a minute to spare either but I sure did revenge on DST.

I think it's a con game. Someone must be making a fortune off of this.

It takes me a good week to adjust and it doesn't matter if it is the Spring or Fall change. I also figured I lost an additional hour - just changing all the clocks.

The theory (so says some congressman) is that we will save all kinds of energy by changing the time sooner then back to Standard time later - sometime in NOV. Bush signed it into law last year. I feel sorry for the kids on the western edges of their time zones who have to stand and wait for school buses in the dark.
Nixon did something like this and we ended up using more energy as school started in the dark - lights turned on early in the morning tended to stay on all day, etc.
My "automatic" self setting clocks refuse to stay on DST and reset themselves to EST everyday. So, I just ignore them. Technology and politics. Bad combination!

I agree, that this change is for the birds! I wish they didn't change it one way or the other.
Just swinging by to see how you're doing, Rho!
Wishing you a Happy Spring!
