A Day Off To Daydream

Since I am now putting in 10 hour days at work, I am taking today off to get some things done around the house and do some planning for the cruise... like where am I going to go shopping to get another pair of shorts and maybe something funky to wear. I suppose I will also do some clean-up around here so that I keep things under control. I am behind on laundry and need to clean the kichen. Laundry is always an ongoing chore that I don't mind, but it is a pain when people don't pick up after themselves in the kitchen.

I am supposed to put in 35 hours per week. Some weeks I go over, and some weeks I am a little short. This summer I am sharing a car with Ally, so she drops me off on her way to work and picks me up on her way home from work. Therefore, I am putting in close to 40 hours a week on this schedule working 4 days a week. Overtime is a no-no. I do keep track of my YTD hours however, so that I don't get the budget out of wack.

What day to take off? Fridays are a bit crazy to take off too often because I have to get everything ready for the Monday deposit. Mondays are important because I have to get the figures to the parish manager from the weekend as soon as the money counters are done with the deposit. I actually would like to take Mondays or Fridays off and probably will on occasion this summer. This week though, Tuesday seemed like a good choice when I got up this morning. It seems I got so excited about the cruise last night that I was still wide awake well after midnight.

So today is a working/planning day for me. I will do some cleaning, some list-making, and some daydreaming:
  • What housework and work-work do I need to have done before I go?
  • What cruisewear do I still need (want) to acquire for the trip?
  • What will I pack?
  • What will my shopping budget be?
  • Will I be able to adjust to the real world when I return?
  • When will I go on my next cruise?
  • Where will I go on my next cruise?
  • Can I get my four children to go with me on my next cruise?
  • Do I really need to change the cat litter boxes today?
  • Are my blogging friends tired of me posting about the upcoming cruise?

You can talk all you want about your cruise!!!

I'd like a maid robot like the Jetsons had.

You want to sort out the kitchen trouble.
Screw tin plates to the table, tile the entire ktichen and install sprinklers in the ceiling. When you're done eating you close the door, flip a switch and the whole mess is like a dishwasher, leaving the room shiny and ready for the next meal. Just be sure to keep your pets out unless they too need a bath.

I too like that Kitchen that flushes comment.
Then you wrote - Are my blogging friends tired of me posting about the upcoming cruise? NOT AT ALL. Just don't forget to tell us all about it when you get back. It really sounds like fun.
